Once you are accepted in an lpn program, you will have to attend school for licensed practical nurse training for a period of one year. There are a total of 1,500 technical schools, vocational schools, and community colleges across the US that offers LPN programs. The licensed practical nurse training in any LPN program basically consist of psychology, anatomy and physiology, nursing fundamentals, mental health, adult health care, paediatric health, practical internships in clinical situations, and nursing roles. There are specialized courses as well where you will be imparted training in obstetrics, administration of drugs and first aid, medical-surgical nursing, and nutrition. Most of the nursing courses in US colleges and universities have typically morning and evening classes. Once you have completed your licensed practical nurse training through an LPN program, you will have to pass a licensing examination known as the NCLEX-PN exam.
